Feedback Journal
Hello There! This is another area we hope to see grow as you contribute your thoughts from our on-line guestbook about Birding, Hiking, Nature Walks, Kids or simply the Outdoor Adventures web site in general. Please remember that this is only done with your permission. It is also a place we will use to insert examples from our real life guestbook in Tucson in addition to any comments we receive by E-mail or indeed regular mail. |
Mar 31st 1997 | Dava J. Moore | Hi Melody! Remember me?? Just read your
bird diary of our 2 days out which is making me terribly
homesick for Arizona and your area! It was so good to
review some of the birds we saw, especially the Lazuli
Bunting and the elf owl. What great fun our 2 days with
you were! I have not had time yet to add our bird
sightings to my life list, but when I do I will let you
know how many (many more than Robin, of course!) I'm so
enjoying the book you gave me. It IS full of information
and will be used often! Thank you for that plus 2 very
fun, rewarding days of birding!!! I had a GRAND time as I
know the other gals did, too! I hope we can keep in touch
over time as I want to hear how Mr. Patton (sp?) is and
all his hummingbirds. Plus, don't forget, you're to find
out what the purpose of all those dusty cars are!! Dava . |
Jan 1997 | Carl Volkmann | Hi Melody, Before too much time elapses, I want to thank you again for making my first professionally-guided birding trip such an enjoyable and rewarding one. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and appreciated the contributions that Norm made as well. . On Saturday, on our way to Green Valley, we stopped at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum where I spotted a pair of Gila Woodpeckers (outside, not in the aviary). Later that day in Green Valley, I saw several Gambel's Quail eating at a ground feeder in a neighbor's yard. I definitely plan to come out to Arizona again, and I will contact you several months before we come. Thanks again for all you did to make my day! . |
Dec 17 1996 | Rick Boylan | Melody: Thank you for all of your
assistance in setting up our hike. Norman was a great
guide and we had a wonderful day of hiking. The views
were so amazing -- I can't wait to get my film developed.
On top of everything else, you even included that very
good breakfast and lunch for us. Now that I've got a
taste of how much fun it is hiking in Tucson, I can't
wait to return for more! . |
Sandy Hise | Melody - Joe and I met you on your
"day off" on Thursday, October 17 in the
Proctor Road area of Madera Canyon. The hour or so spent
birding with you was the highlight of our trip to
Arizona! I learned so much from you about birding basics
and birds in your area. Just love that little bridled
titmouse! I will be in touch with you next time we head
for Tucson - hopefully during hummingbird season. The feeders in our yard are buzzing with black cap & chestnut back chickadees, rose breasted nuthatch, house finch, juncos, spotted towhee, mourning doves, golden crowned sparrow, bush tit, etc. We have a couple of Anna's hummingbirds and red shafted flickers come in sometimes for black oil sunflower seeds and our suet feeder. Is business pretty slow for you this time of year? Would love to hear from you when you get time! We just got connected to e-mail tonight from our new home computer and this is my very first message! . |

Aug. 6th, 1996 | Jeff B. and friends | ... spent these days
exploring one of the most fascinating wildlife areas in
Southern Arizona. The wildlife was everywhere. We saw
"a Desert Bighorn Ram as big as a Volkswagen",
deer posed for pictures, rattlesnakes, a gopher snake,
and baby coatis. What a trip. Remember for a tour such as
this, we supply all of the equipment, food, etc., you
just go along for the fun. . |
Aug. 6th, 1996 | G. T. Tanaka | Russ, Dee and I want to
thank you for the personal tour you gave us of Tucson and
the environs...your expertise, enthusiasm, and energy
were really outstanding and contagious... the tour was
better than any of us had hoped for.... more. . |
July 9th, 1996 | Dianne Turausky | I loved the photos of the
wilderness kids...especially because one of them is my
handsome son! Nice work on the homepage! . |
April 4th, 1996 | Gary Passett | Still "high" from
the great hike. Please send us several of your business cards so that I can hand some out around here. Aled, Thanks again.. . |
April 4th, 1996 | Lucy and Tony Fortnam | Thank you for sending my
camera lens back and also for the great cactus book, it
was really kind of you. Tony and I really enjoyed our
guided walk with you, definitely one of our holidays
highlights. . |
Feb. 13th, 1996 | Merri Dee Snider | Thanks for making our
birdwatching day such a special treat! We wouldn't have
had a clue where to find so many species. My sister was
just thrilled and I enjoyed or outing as well. Your
blueberry muffins were outstanding. The rangers at Saline
Canyon were impressed that we saw the White Tailed Kite.
We are spreading the word and hope to see you when my
sister visits next time. . |
Jan. 10th 1996 | Adrienne Drell | Dear Melody, I just finished
shovelling the snow off our driveway. It made me long for
the clear skies and desert of Tucson. One of my great
memories in this cold and snow is of the fabulous hike
through Sagura East with you, Marty and our friends. Each
person claimed it was the highlight of their New Years
weekend. Thank you for making our lives special. . |
Feb. 11th, 1994 | Mary Lou Lowrie | Thank you again for the BEST
day. It was so delightful to hike with someone so
enthusiastic, knowledgeable and sharp-eyed! It is
unfortunate that more people don't appreciate the
"wild places". Oh well more room for those of
us who do! . |
Susan | I still have visions of
hummingbirds dancing in my head. Wow! What awesome birds!
I wanted to say thanks again for a terrific week of
birding! I had a wonderful time and am sure I'll remember
it for many years to come! . |

April 22nd, 1993 | Joan Silling | Outdoor Adventures is a
truly outstanding company. I have had the pleasure of
using your service on two separate occasions; one for
hiking in the canyons and the other for birding. Both
experiences were absolutely superb and I can hardly wait
until my next trip to Tucson! Knowledgeable and skilful guides focused toward client satisfaction were evident on both trips. During my recent 2.5 day birding outing, I was assisted in identifying 105 different species, a feat which I found absolutely incredible. I have enthusiastically recommended Outdoor Adventures to all of my friends who share my passions for birding and hiking. I know they will be as thrilled with you and your services as I have been. |
